Bear market
A period when most share prices are going down.
Bull market
A period when most share prices are going up.
Circuit breaker
An automatic pause in trading when prices move too far, too fast.
Correction
A fall of about 10% or more from a recent high.
IPO
The first time a company sells its shares to the public.
Market crash
A sudden and steep fall in share prices across the whole market.
Moving average
The average price over a recent period, updated each day.
Target price
A price someone expects an investment to reach.
Volume
How many shares changed hands in a period.
