What is share?

One unit of ownership in a company.

Explained in more detail

A company divides its ownership into many equal units called shares. Buying one share makes you one of that company’s owners, along with everyone else who holds shares.

An example

For instanceIf a company has 1,00,000 shares and you own 100, you own 0.1% of it.
